Terms and Conditions
General

Exact Editing may require a signed agreement or acceptance of terms via email or fax before commencing any work. The agreement will be sent to you via email attachment, post or facsimile for your prompt return. Smaller projects may be exempt from this.

A deposit of 25% is required from all new private clients, with the balance payable immediately upon completion of the project.

A deposit of 25% may be required from new business clients, with the balance payable 30 days net from date of invoice.

Copyright

Rights to use written material will not pass to you until your fee has been paid in full.

Exact Editing will not be held responsible or liable for client-supplied material such as existing web content, internal company documents, etc.

Once full payment has been made, you own the rights to all work created for you, with the exception of portfolio rights. This means you can do anything you want with it and re-use it any way you see fit.

Exact Editing reserves the right to use your project in hard copy and electronic form (on this web site) in our portfolio. If you have confidentiality concerns, portfolio rights may be negotiated at any time.

Revisions

Should revisions be necessary and should they be the fault of the team here at Exact Editing, they will be completed as quickly as possible as per your instructions, and at no additional charge. This is provided that such requested revisions are reasonable and made within 14 days of your receipt of the copy and are not based on a fundamental change in the assignment or its original scope as quoted on. Should this be the case, further charges will apply.

Client Approval

You are responsible for the approval of any work ordered for the project to be considered complete. This approval can either be via email, post or facsimile.

Upon approval of the completed project you accept responsibility for any further processes in which the work is used (printing, etc.). Exact Editing will not be held responsible for errors occurring in the work or projects related to the work after acceptance of the project.

Cancellation or Changes

If the parameters of a project change, or if the project involves a significantly greater amount of time than originally estimated, a member of our team will contact you immediately so your fee can be renegotiated. Should you need to cancel or place any project on hold, you will be invoiced for all work completed to that date. You are responsible for payment of all expenses incurred and any work done based on the percentage of the project already completed at the time of cancellation.

Should you cancel the project following its completion, you are responsible for full payment as per the agreed-upon project terms.

Payment and Collection

Business Clients: Final payment is due 30 days net from date of invoice.
Private Clients: Any outstanding balance is due immediately upon completion of the project. Delivery of the completed project/s will not occur until proof of payment has been provided.

Expenses

Should services such as a Courier be required, you will be consulted regarding these costs prior to such expense being incurred on your behalf. The quote provided and/or fees charged are fully inclusive of all costs incurred during the completion of your project, including phone, fax, internet and email, and other minor out-of-pocket expenses.

Termination of Service and Contractual Obligations

Exact Editing reserves the right to terminate all service or contractual obligations with the client should the client violate any of these Terms and Conditions.

Refusal or Denial of Service

Exact Editing reserves the right to deny or refuse service to any client or prospective client for any reason.
